EFEKTIVITAS METODE ASSURE PADA MATA KULIAH MATEMATIKA I

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas metode ASSURE untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Matematika I di STMIK STIKOM Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan mixed method yang menggabungkan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan kualitatif secara berurutan, di mana pada tahap pertama menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan tahap kedua dengan metode kualitatif. Dimulai dari persiapan penelitian yaitu observasi dengan metode wawancara sampai ke analisis data yang berupa kuisioner/angket respon mahasiswa dan tes motivasi kognitif. Desain penelitian kuantitatif yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental design yaitu one group pretest-posttest design dengan uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan t-test. Sedangkan deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk memahami kelemahan dan kelebihan metode ASSURE dalam upaya meningkatkan motivasi belajar matematika mahasiswa. Hasil analisis kuisioner respon mahasiswa terlihat bahwa penggunaan metode ASSURE dalam pembelajaran matematika mendapat respon positif sebesar 93% dalam kategori tinggi. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa mahasiswa menyenangi metode pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh dosen yang bersangkutan. Didukung pula dengan data hasil motivasi belajar mahasiswa setelah mendapat metode ASSURE juga baik. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan 63% mahasiswa berada pada skor dengan kategori tinggi, 27% mahasiswa dengan kategori sedang, dan 10% mahasiswa dengan kategori rendah.

Abstract
This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the ASSURE method to increase the motivation to study students at Mathematics I College at STMIK STIKOM Indonesia. The study used a mixed method that combines quantitative research methods with qualitative sequentially, where in the first phase using quantitative methods and the second phase with qualitative methods. Starting from the research preparation is observation with the method of interviews to the analysis of data that is in the form of questionnaire/questionnaire student response and cognitive motivation test. Quantitative research design used is a pre-experimental design that is one group Pretest-posttest design with hypothesis test done with T-Test. While qualitative descriptive is used to understand the weaknesses and advantages of the ASSURE method in the effort to increase motivation learning student mathematics. The results of the student response questionnaire analysis were seen that the use of the ASSURE method in learning mathematics received a positive response of 93% in high category. This proves that the students have the convenience of learning methods performed by the lecturers in question. Supported by the motivation result of learning student data after getting the ASSURE method is also good. This is evidenced by the 63% of students being in high-category scores, 27% of moderate-to-category students, and 10% of low-category students.
