ANALISIS FITOKONSTITUEN EKSTRAK ETANOL MAKROALGA MERAH (Euchema cottonii) YANG DIKOLEKSI DARI PETANI RUMPUT LAUT DI PULAU SERANGAN, DENPASAR-BALI

Abstract

Makroalga merah, Euchema cottonii secara tradisional telah dimanfaatkan sebagai makanan fungsional dan kesehatan, seperti menjaga imunitas tubuh dan kesehatan saluran pencernaan. Di sisi lain, makroalga merah ini banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai makanan tradisional pembuatan “rujak bulung” (makanan tradisional khas Bali). Dalam penelitian ini, ekstrak etanol makroalga merah ini dianalisis dan diidentifikasi kandungan senyawa aktifnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis senyawa aktif yang dapat diaplikasikan sebagai sumber obat yang terkandung dalam makroalga merah yang dikoleksi dari petani makroalga merah di Pulau Serangan, Denpasar-Bali. Analisis profil senyawa aktif secara kuantitatif ditentukan dengan menerapkan instrument GC-MS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 14 senyawa aktif diperoleh dari ekstrak etanol makroalga merah ini. Hexadecanoic acid, ethyl ester teridentifikasi sebesar 29.81% pada retention time (RT) 15.380. Profil senyawa dengan area peak terendah ditunjukkan oleh Cyclotrisiloxane, hexamethyl yaitu sebesar 0.82% dengan nilai RT sebesar 18.339. Senyawa Hexadecanoic acid dilaporkan memiliki potensi sebagai aktivitas anti-kanker, antimikroba patogen makanan, dan sumber antioksidan.
