Abstract

One of the contributors of energy, fat and carbohydrate highest for children from early childhood education is the excessive consumption of snacks if it will cause obesity. In addition, a factor which also can also lead to obesity include genetic factors, physical activity or exercise habits as well as supplements.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of macronutrient and sodium intake of snack food consumption as a risk factor for the incidence of obesity in children in the early childhood Denpasar. This type of research used in this study is a type of observational study with case control design.

The method used in collecting the data in this study is the method using a questionnaire and interview methods 2 x 24-hour recall and direct measurement. The number of samples in this study were 94 samples were divided into two groups, namely the 47 sample cases and 47 control samples. Samples in the case group was students who are obese after early childhood is calculated by calculating weight / height. While the sample in the control group were students who did not experience early childhood obesity. The data were processed with the help of computer software programs.

Statistical tests to the conclusion that there is a relationship between the consumption of the supplement drinks with obesity in children of early childhood in the city of Denpasar, and there is a relationship between the intake of energy consumed by the occurrence of obesity in children in the early childhood Denpasar (P <0.05).

In addition, child supplements are factors that have the highest risk 4.2 times more at risk of obesity in children in the early childhood Denpasar. Energy intake 0:16 times more at risk of obesity in children can lead to early childhood in the city of Denpasar than enough energy consumption.
