Abstract

ABSTRAK
Telah dilakukan uji aktivitas ekstrak metanol daun andong merah (Cordyline fruticosa (L.) A Chev.) dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah dan asam lemak bebas pada tikus wistar betina yang obesitas. Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak mengandung senyawa polifenol, flavonoid, saponin, alkaloid, dan steroid. Hasil uji kadar glukosa dan asam lemak bebas menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak dosis 35mg/kg BB dan 70mg/kg BB dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah dan asam lemak bebas dibandingkan dengan kelompok tikus yang hanya diberi pakan tinggi lemak dengan perbedaan nyata p<0,05.

ABSTRACT
The activity of methanol extract of red andong leaf (Cordyline fruticosa (L.) A Chev.) to decrease blood glucose level and free fatty acid were investigated in obese female wistar rats. The results of phytochemical tests showed that the extract contains polyphenolic, flavonoid, saponin, alkaloid, and steroid compounds. The results of glucose and free fatty acid test showed that giving of extract with dose 35mg / kg BW and 70mg / kg BW could decrease blood glucose level and free fatty acid compared to the group of wistar rats were fed high fat with significant difference p <0,05.
